James Gunn revealed some disappointing news to Marvel fans ahead of the company’s D23 panel. D23 is essentially Comic-Con 2.0 for Marvel and Disney fans as a Disney-centric event that offers new glimpses and details for upcoming movies, TV shows, and games. After Marvel’s massive San Diego Comic-Con panel over the summer, many were hoping the company would use D23 to detail some of the previously announced movies and shows. Fans expect to see the casting news of The Fantastic Four And maybe get new trailers for movies like Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Unfortunately, James Gunn has come out setting some expectations for Marvel’s D23 board. Gunn took to Twitter to confirm that there won’t be any new special looks Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 or coming Galaxy Holiday’s Special Guardianswhich is scheduled for release at the end of 2022. The director indicated that he is delving into the process of editing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 She is also preparing for a wedding. While it is not a huge surprise Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Missing since it’s a bit further away and had a sneak peak at Comic-Con, which is the confirmation that there won’t be a trailer for Galaxy Holiday’s Special Guardians A bit shocking given that it is expected to be released in just a few short months.
Unfortunately that was my way of saying it wouldn’t be there. I can’t be there, so we won’t be showing any private glimpses from Volume 3 or a special holiday.

As of now, it is not clear when we will get trailers for the upcoming Guardians adventures. Marvel has historically not had a large presence at New York Comic-Con relative to D23 and San Diego Comic-Con, so it seems unlikely that anything will appear there. The trailer for the holiday special will likely launch online on a random day in the coming weeks, but that’s just speculation. Either way, we hope Marvel’s D23 board packs other surprises for fans.
